The aim of the uGym Youth Development Academy is to provide a safe and productive environment for young people to come and develop their fitness goals. Those goals will vary from athlete to athlete but we will look to provide support for all levels of participant, that may be general fitness and weight management to the next aspiring Scottish or British athlete.
We will aim to provide equal opportunity for the variety of young individuals we have in our community and give them a head start on the generations that came before them.
Age Groups
Under 14s
Stage 1 – 1 session per week
Stage 2 – 2 sessions per week
Stage 3 – 3 sessions per week
Under 16s
Stage 1 – 1 session per week
Stage 2 – 2 sessions per week
Stage 3 – 3 sessions per week
Under 18s
Stage 2 – 2 sessions per week
Stage 3 – 3 sessions per week
(Under 14 sessions start at 11 years of age)
Levels
Stage 1 – For beginners. For those who are just starting out and want to improve their general health and fitness. Sessions will be general basing the sessions on fundamental movements and cardio based circuits.
Stage 2 – For those who want to progress their health and fitness to the next level. Part of a club or group participating in sport/fitness elsewhere. Sessions will still be more specific than Stage 1 however it will be based on the entire class needs rather than individuals like the Stage 3s.
Stage 3 – Participates heavily in sports/fitness elsewhere, working towards the next level in their sport/field of fitness. Sessions will be more specific to what the individual athlete is looking for.
